So we’re protecting them. Why are we protecting all these deadbeats? And some of them were totally delinquent. They didn’t pay. And I said, “You got to pay. If you want to play, you got to pay.” 

They said, “Sir, what would happen if we didn’t pay? Wouldn’t you still protect us?”

I didn’t like their attitude. What’s with that attitude? I said, “If you didn’t pay, I would not recommend protecting you. In fact, I would recommend something quite the opposite of protecting you.”

And it was amazing how fast that money came in, right? That money came in fast, $430 trillion. Started off with 130 billion. Billion, not million, billion. And then 430 trillion came in very quickly. If it worked in Europe…

We did a lot of good things with South Korea too. I said, “We been protecting you for nothing long enough. Now you got to pay your fair share. You’re a rich country. You make the boats, the kitchen thing for Diet Coke, you make all of our television sets, which you took from us. Thank you very much. You make so many cars for us. You got to pay.”

And they agreed. Well maybe not agreed but they paid us bigly. And they paid trillions of dollars at my request. It wasn’t that easy. It took a little while, little more than a minute, about two days. They agreed to pay trillions of dollars, trillions of dollars.

And then I said, “Look, next year, wait till after the election. But you’re going to have to pay at least $5 trillion.”
